Have you ever thought about or seen people trying to run with snowshoes on? No, not those old wood and cat-gut snowshoes Dad had hanging in the cabin, but racing snowshoes designed to give you just enough traction and keep you on top of the snow. Here's your chance to watch, or maybe even try! Beginners and experienced racers are invited to attend the innaugural Darts Lake Dash snowshoe event at YMCA Camp Gorham. Not only can you spend several days at a beautiful camp in the Adirondacks, but lodging is available as well as a lunch on Saturday, between races. Overnight accomodations are available, see www.campgorham.org for more information and registration.
The event is a fundraiser for Camp Gorham''s Invest in Youth campaign where funds are raised to provide scholarship assistance to youth and others attending camp during the summer.

The Pink Panther 5K run/walk will be held on the Northeast Bradford HS cross country course. The race will be timed by Fast Finishers. T-shirts are available for all pre-registered 5K runners/walkers. A limited number of shirts will be available on race day. Colgate University's Habitat for Humanity Team is organizing a 5k run/walk and half marathon event called HomeRun. The event will take place on Saturday April 10, 2010 on the Hamilton Village Green in Hamilton, NY. It will start at 8:30 A.M. If your members choose to attend the event, they can pre-register for it--the cost would be $18 per person for the 5k and $23 per person for the half marathon. They can also register for the event on the day of the run/walk--the cost would be $20 per person for the 5k and $25 the day of. We will also be giving out t-shirts to the first 100 runners that pre-register before March 26, 2010.

IC Hope, Ithaca College's Relay for Life team for the Tompkins County Relay event, is proud to host our 2nd Annual 5k run/walk. Logan?s Run is dedicated to a young man who inspired us all with his courage, positive attitude, and determination. Logan was only 11 when he lost his courageous fight with brain cancer in September 2008.
Logan was a caring young man with a contagious laugh who loved his family, horses, his dog and cats, singing, soccer, baseball, and BMX bike racing. Despite his illness, he continued to participate in the events he loved with his whole heart, a true inspiration to all who knew and loved him.
Logan's story reached our team just before the 2008 Relay for Life and he immediately became our inspiration for the event. IC Hope will never forget this incredible young man…it is for people like Logan that we continue to fight cancer through dedicated fundraising efforts.

A mixture of paved and dirt roads await runners at the Oak Tree Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk. Since 2005, this annual Sunday of Labor Day event has been a great way to get in shape, test yourself, and have fun in a beautiful setting all while supporting the conservation efforts of the Genesee Valley Conservancy (GVC).
The course tours the small village of Geneseo, a National Historic Landmark, and extends out into the countryside roads surrounded by the Nations Road Grasslands, identified as an Important Bird Area by the National Audubon Society. Runners pass the majestic Oak Tree savannahs of the Genesee Valley, featuring trees over 300 years old. Geneseo is located 30 minutes south of Rochester, NY and is located on the western edge of the Finger Lakes wine region.
The Oak Tree features live musical groups along the course to add a unique flavor to this small town race, certainly one you are not soon to forget. Over 2,800 acres of land visible from the race course are permanently protected open space by GVC.
Runners finish at the Geneseo Central School''s track and field facility, the location of the 5K finish, Kids Fun Runs, post race food, and awards ceremonies. Unique awards cap off this event, from the handmade ceramic finisher medals to the Oak tree prize, local food products, and other awards that you won''t find at other events!
