The club has many opportunities for members or any interested runners to become involved, particularly in organizing and directing races. Some of the possibilities are listed below. But also simply check out the race calendar and contact a race director if you'd like to help out with an event.

Current opportunities:

General Help

As a club it is important that more of our members get involved with keeping our club active and running. Most of our current board members have been volunteering for many years and are ready to give up some of their responsibilities. Please consider helping in whatever capacity you are capable. Contact club co-presidents Steve Shaum and Nancy Kleinrock (607-387-7565) if you would like additional information about any of these positions or if you would like to help in any way.

The Finger Lakes Runners Club Needs You!

We are looking for volunteers. We need race directors, and people willing to volunteer at FLRC events. I would hate to see some of our races cancelled for next year because we could not find a director for the event. Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering in any capacity. We need anyone willing to:

Direct a race
Help out with the indoor track program
Work an aid station at any event on our Calendar
Help with race day setup and tear down
Help with soliciting sponsorship for our many events
Pickup supplies
Work the finish line shoot
Act as a race day timer
Help with race day registration
Etc.

There is a job available for everyone. We are asking that each club member make a commitment to volunteer for at least one FLRC event. A club is only as good as its members. Isn't it time you gave something back?
