Monster Marathon Synopsis of Results

In these age/sex head start handicap events, Tim Ingall of Lansing won the full marathon in 3:45:14. For years Tim has been saying that he would never, ever run as far a marathon; now he is eating those words. First woman was Deborah McCauley of Westport with 4:44:34.

In the half marathon, Robin (Adlai) Wheeless of Syracuse won for the second straight year with 1:39:38, albeit five minutes slower than last year, when he set the course record. For the second straight year Audrey Balander of Virgil was the first woman and third overall with 1:45:19—identical to her time last year!

A great job was done by first-time race director Becky Harman (last year's marathon winner) and her volunteers. I found Becky fantastic to work with in planning the race, marking the course, and preparing and dropping off the aid station supplies. Becky was most meticulous with all details. Once again, we were supported by the Wilderness Search & Rescue Team of Central NY.
