A Sneak Preview of Family Fun Day's 200-Meter Countdown!

Tim Ingall has tweaked the Family Fun Day line-up of events this season with some imaginative challenges, including the much-anticipated "200-meter Countdown."

"I have heard a resounding buzz concerning this new and mysterious event," Ingall said. "Young and old are trying to understand how it's played, and how tough it will be. I've heard worried thoughts such as, 'What if 50 runners are standing on the starting line at once?' I say the more the merrier; it'll be lots of fun. You'll see."

At time approximate 11:10 a.m., the 200-meter Countdown is unveiled! All competitors, starting together, will run single 200-meter laps of the track. The last two athletes across the finish line at the end of each 200-meter lap will be eliminated. From the time the first runner finishes the lap to the start of the next lap will be 80 seconds. Any athlete still in the game has to be back to the starting line at that point. At the beginning of the game, it'll be all about strategy. When four or five runners are left, the real racing begins.

"The winner will hold the title of the first-ever FLRC 200-meter Countdown champion," said Ingall, with an evil grin, "and will no doubt be exhausted!"
