Congratulations to Jim Chely for a very successful event at Tanglewood Nature Center near Elmira.
It was a perfect morning, and between 60 and 70 people completed either the 5- or 10-mile double-loop trail. I found it a tough course (and now know why Jim is running so well this season), but it was also interesting and scenic with open areas, wooded sections, and major death-defying-cliff running trails too! A little mud, plenty of dried up streambeds, and rocky sections with major ups and downs added to the fun.
An array of food and drink greeted the finishers along with an enthusiastic finish line crowd of volunteers, friends, and relatives.
Thanks to everyone who helped put on the event and for such a fun morning, and for keeping the rattlesnakes under control.
