Reflections on Family Fun Day

Here is my write up on the March Family Fun Day, at Barton Hall in March.

The FLRC all-comers Family Fun Day was held at Barton Hall, Cornell U., at 9 a.m. There was fun for everyone. They had several more series races this year. There was the series events from 55 meters for the little kids and their parent up to the mile for anyone. [Four events increased in length according to the ages of the kids.]

Besides this, we had fun in the infield with sack races, 3-legged races; wheelboro races and a relay race. At the end there were medals and prizes like balloons, and Gatorade sports drinks and sports bars for everyone 12 years old and under. Plus all the others got covered, plus the youngest kid in the serious mile; the fastest kid in the serious mile; and the fastest male and female teenager got a prize. Plus the age groups for 40, 50, 60, etc. got prizes. The teenagers and adults got their choice of both a sports drink and a sports bar in different flavors.

My friend Sarah who lives in my apartment complex came up with me as a spectator and had a fantastic time.

So, plan on attending this well run event directed by Tim Ingall, which was very well attended. It's always in March and is the last of our (indoor) track series (of the season).

[Ed. note: Many thanks to Victoria for the delicious cookies and snacks she brought to each meet, and shared with all the runners!]
