John Beach Wins Officer of the Month

Congrats to FLRC membership chair John Beach, Stop-DWI program coordinator, who received the Frank G. Hammer Officer of the Month in September. Beach was honored by members of the Kiwanis Club of Ithaca and local law enforcement officials.

The presentation said Beach is a true friend of law enforcement. He's instrumental in reenergizing traffic safety patrols in the county by securing much needed equipment and overtime funding for officers. He's maintained a database that tracks the roads and times when drunk drivers are more often stopped which has helped police keep intoxicated motorists off the road.

One thing, John. How come you listed "baseball" -- not running -- as your favorite sport?
