USA 24-Hour Run National Championship Geesler Wins!

Sylvania, Ohio, Sept. 14-15

John Geesler of St. Johnsville, N.Y., well know to local runners as a regular on the Finger Lakes Trail Runners Circuit, became the first American man to win the USA 24-Hour Run National Championship three times at the Olander Park 24-Hour event. Geesler recorded a total of 137.52 miles, and won the gold medal.

Ann Heaslett of Madison, Wisc., won her second-straight women's title, completing 128.55 miles.

Yiannis Kouros of Athens, Greece won the 24-hour race overall with 172.37 miles, but is not eligible for the U.S. title.
