Pie Report From Adam
I extended my streak at the Ellis Hollow Pie Runs this year, capturing first place in the 2 mile prediction run in 11:19 (only 11 seconds off my predicted time of 11:30, and 23 seconds faster than last year's time). Admittedly, there were only 12 people in the race, and the second place finisher came through in 14:42, so it wasn't exactly a tough field, but hey, you takes your cherry pies where you gets 'em. Yum.
I also won the 1/2 mile race, though the slice of Boston cream pie I selected to shove into my face after the starting gun slowed me down more than last year's chocolate cream pie so I ran 3 seconds slower this year, coming through in 2:58. Turns out it's harder to get the Boston cream pie swallowed so you can breathe.
Next year I'll try to post a reminder to the lists about this race - it's fun and easy, and the awards are far tastier (and easier to come by) than the norm.
