Help Wanted
The new 2003 FLRC calendar of events is enclosed inside this
newsletter (and will be on the website soon). You'll also find our
separate indoor track
schedule. Clip and save them both!
There are a few changes in dates and race directors. Although things
can change at any time, it looks like the Hartshorne Memorial Masters
Mile is taking place one week later than usual on Jan. 25, so our FL
Snowshoe Race moves to the first Saturday in February.
We need volunteers to step forward for the following positions:
- Joe Reynolds would like to have an active assistant race director for
the Finger Lakes Trail Fifties. It would be practical if that person
lived within a reasonable distance of the FL National Forest in Hector.
- The executive board needs one member at large. That person will need
to attend board meetings, which from now until May will be every other
month, on the 2nd Wedneday of the month, on the Cornell campus. Our
meetings are lively, to say the least, and we feed you pizza.
- I need an assistant newsletter editor ASAP. The outstanding Betsy
Martens is stepping down due to additional work projects. Your duties
entail laying out the text of the newsletter; retrieving results and
stories from the listserve and FLRC Web site; and editing content. You'll
work with Webmaster Tom Meyer, by sending the newsletter to him each
month for publication on our Web site. You'll also be responsible for
taking the finished publication to Gnomon Copy at the Tops Plaza in
Ithaca, and notifying (membership chair) John Beach regarding number of
copies and when to pick it up. It then goes to (Mr. Postman) John Sholeen
for mailing.
Please contact Diane Sherrer or Lorrie Marnell if you're interested in
one of these jobs.
