November/December 2002 Newsletter

Thank You, Betsy!

My very outstanding, hilarious, efficient, quick-thinking, loyal and super writer/editor assistant editor Betsy Martens is stepping down as my newsletter partner. Betsy has taken on more job duties, and needs to weed out extra chores. I will miss you very much Betsy, and appreciate everything you've done for me and the club. Our partnership has been a well-oiled machine, with communication lines open at all times. Betsy has been responsible for the newsletter as much as I am. Thank you, Ms. Pebblehead!

I hope to see you running again, too!

And . . . Thank YOU, Diane!

It's been a privilege (and a lot of fun) to work with Diane for the past two years getting the newsletter out each month. I'm just sorry to have to step down so soon (because my "day job" has suddenly gotten a lot more demanding AND my dissertation clock has begun to tick very loudly), but can assure the lucky next volunteer that this IS a great gig for anyone who'd like to get to know the local running scene better.

Special thanks to John Beach, Tom Meyer, and the Sholeens for always being so kind and helpful, as well as to all our great contributors like Rick Cleary, Joe Dabes, Herb Engman, Adam Engst, Cathy Troisi, and way too many others to name here. (Avril Fuerst, your secret is still safe with me!)

I really look forward to seeing the "new" newsletter (and, hey, by the way, there should be some photos each issue!) Anyway, this time next year, I hope to have resumed being more active both on the trails and as a volunteer- but you may have to call me "DOCTOR Pebblehead"!
