Enlist in the Marine Corps Marathon (Oct. 27, 2002)

Go to www.marinemarathon.com/2002lottery.html, because you have to register online for a lottery drawing. The registration process began Feb. 15, and the selection begins on March 15. You do not have to pay anything to enter via the lottery (unlike NYC).

Lottery processs: Go online, and complete the application. Have your credit card ready. Submit only one entry. Group entries will be considered but you'll need to see special instructions online. Group entries are not team entries. I'd say it means groups of friends.

Each week, beginning Mar. 15, the selections will take place until 16,000 runners have been picked. Once you're picked, you'll be notified by mail, and will appear on a list on the official Web site.

You are guaranteed entry if: you've completed 5 MCMs or more, and belong to the MC Running Club. To become a member, send copies of your finishing certificates, patches or medals to: MCM, PO Box 188, Quantico, Va. 22134 by March 15.
