A Postcard from Cleder, France
Nikki Kimball, our world-class overall winner of the FL Trail Fifties 50-Miler June 30, competed on the U.S. team in World 100K Road Championships, held in Cleder, France in late August. The women's team finished fourth; Rich Hanna, of the U.S., was 2nd overall in a dramatic finish (6:43:09).
Details are available online at www.ultrarunning.com (as well as other ultra sites). You can read women's team member Anne Riddle's diary, and see a nice photo of her and Nikki.
Here's what Nikki had to say to all of you via a postcard sent to me:
Hi All! Let me just say that the U.S. women's ultra team Rocks! It certainly wasn't the best placing ever (though not bad -- 4th), but we ran as a team, pushing each other and sharing food, meds (4 of us caught a GI bug early on) and positive energy through a really tough day. I may even do a few more of these road ultras... though we all know trails are way cooler! Hope you all are well. Run lots & have fun.
Love, Nikki
