First Annual Pebblehead Volunteer Awards

Diane's Volunteer Stoneheads rankings I feel are very appropriate -- the people she mentioned are truly Volunteer Stoneheads for putting in so many hours in so many races.

But I feel we should honor all race directors as Volunteer Pebbleheads. It takes a lot of commitment and time (hours the runners don't see!) to be a race director. Here are the trail race directors this last year that should be so honored:

• Steve Ryan - Frolic
• Doug Kibby - Empire Haven
• Stephen Snyder - Madness
• Tim Ingall - Forge
• Dave Burbank & Gillian Sharp - Monster
• Sue Aigen - Danby D & D

And, even though they weren't trail run directors, let's not forget the huge number of hours that Yvette deBoer and Lorrie Marnell put in directing our largest road races --- Skunk and 5 & 10.
