Finger Lakes Runners Club Needs You!

We are looking for volunteers. We need race directors, and people willing to volunteer at FLRC events. I would hate to see some of our races cancelled for next year because we could not find a director for the event. Please contact me if you are interested in volunteering in any capacity. We need anyone willing to:

• Direct a race
• Help out with the indoor track program
• Work an aid station at any event on our 2002 Calendar
• Help with race day setup and tear down
• Help with soliciting sponsorship for our many events
• Pick up supplies
• Work the finish line chute
• Act as a race day timer
• Help with race day registration
• etc, etc.

There is a job available for everyone. I am asking that each club member make a commitment in 2002 to volunteer for at least one FLRC event. Even though this issue of the newsletter is going out in the mail to 240 readers, you will see from the articles below that fewer than 10% of that number are doing 95% of the work involved in putting on our events. A club is only as good as its members. Isn't it time you gave something back?
