The Stonehead Scoop

It was a battle to the finish, but the leader withdrew. Alan Lockett could have walked the 10K loop at the Danby Down & Dirty Race and regained the Stonehead title that he held two and three years ago. Alan chose not to run this last race, after running all 10 previous trail runs, as his achilles tendon was bothering him.

So Dave "Stonehead" Jones takes the male Stonehead title for the second straight year. He was the only person to complete all 11 trail runs in theFLRC (and Syr. Chargers) trail race circuit.

In the women's division, Lorrie "Rockhead" Marnell regained the women's title that she held for so many years prior to last year. Last year Donna Lockett came along and won the women's title (and Donna, in fact, would have beaten the top male - Dave "Stonehead" Jones, had Donna not gotten lost at the Monster Half Marathon!). Unfortunately, Donna has been injured this year.

In the Stonehead rankings all 11 trail races counted. Points for each race are calculated by: winning time / runners time x 100. In the Pebblehead rankings, only the top three races of each runner are counted. Due to popular demand, we're including the top 100 places in both Stonehead and Pebblehead rankings in this issue, here.
