Congrats to John Geesler

Geesler, the reigning U.S. 24-hour national champion, M40-44 American record holder in that event and a familiar face on our trails, has been named one of the 2000 Eastern regional All-Americans by the MUT (Mountain/Ultra/Trail) arm of USA Track & Field.

Congrats to Lennie Tucker

Lennie Tucker, Syracuse Charger and FL Trail Runner, has been selected to receive the RRCA 2000 Kurt Steiner Children's Developmental Running Award.

Lennie, now a retired kindergarten teacher, was a pioneer in women's ultra running; and continues to be active in our sport as a runner and as a volunteer, organizer, track official and advocate for kids, women and masters athletes.

Way to go, Lennie from your friends in the Finger Lakes region!

Congrats to the Guthrie Sports Medicine Group

Thanks and good job to the staff of Guthrie Sports Medicine who saved the Guthrie Gallop and directed a very successful 18th edition May 12. Numbers were way up in all races, and the organization was excellent. These are the folks who will bring you the 20th Wineglass Marathon, so expectations are high.

Thanks to Frank Gaval who financed the first annual Bob Bridgman Memorial Award, given to the first M60 in the 10K. And thanks to Dick Johnston, Sandy Maynard and Linda Hinshaw for directing the Guthrie Gallop the previous 17 years.
