'Tis The Season To Be Elfish

Don't miss it! St. Anthony's 2nd annual Elf Run 5K is set for December 9th in Cortland at 1 p.m. This is one of the most outstanding ideas on the race calendar, and director Aimee Roberts deserves a standing ovation because she is the one with the big heart and creative mind. This is what every race should aspire to be.

The Elf Run is a low-key 5K with a new twist: the entry fee is a new toy or $10 pre-race; or a new toy and $15 race day. All money and toys taken in benefit the Cortland Children of the Incarcerated. A 50/50 raffle is also offered race day to cover expenses.

The start and finish is St. Anthony's Paduan Community Center at 236 South Main St. Register early and you'll receive a special treat.

There are many homemade awards and good food prepared by the Community Center volunteers.

Last year, the response was incredible, with runners bringing more than one toy and filling the Christmas tree from top to bottom. Be elfish this year-- be there!
