Track Help Needed

URGENT: HELP WANTED

One of the not so glamorous parts of being a race director is finding volunteers to help you out. Even from such a thriving club as FLRC it can sometimes be difficult to find people to take on duties, especially beyond those of race day. I know how it is, we are all busy and other things are quite legitimately often more important.

On Tuesday evening May 17th at 6.30pm at MVR on the Cornell campus Room 114 Tom Meyer and Adam Engst are holding a teaching session for the Track Results program and the Time Machine timer. Both these are NOT COMPLICATED to learn but are also not things that can be just jumped into operating on race day. For race directors, the Time Machine is something that can be used for timing your races too if you wish.

Unfortunately Tom is almost certainly going to be leaving Ithaca soon and Adam is looking for others to help at meets so he can have more than a 20 second warm up for his next mile under 5 minutes! Our next track meet is only a few weeks away and we do need your help.

Please let me know if you'd like to help with this. I'm not asking you to devote yourself to every meet throughout the year, if we can find 5, 6, or maybe more people to cover the meets in these capacities it would be a really big help. Even if you are only a 'maybe' please consider coming to the meeting and seeing what it's about.

If you need directions to the room just let me know as well as send me your name if you can join us.

Thanks very much for your consideration and your help in the past,
