There are lots of opportunities for group-running in the Finger Lakes area, though there is no single regionally-organized training group. Here are some of the possibilities:
This group has its own mailing list HIGHNOON-L where members discuss workouts and training schedules for the weeks to come. Visit the Cornell CIT page on mailing lists to learn how to join, leave, or send mail to the list.
The entire group has grown steadily in numbers, and encompasses a wide range of ability, speed, and distance depending on target races and goals. I arrived today to find 20-25 runners stretching in the rain--already a dedicated group by the looks of it.
Chances are we will see some of you at 9am next Sunday in the parking lot of the Wildflower preserve (near the High Noon diaper loop), or at least pass along the info to others you feel might be interested in meeting this group.
(06/2004) These workouts are in full-swing this summer. Come out early and join the fun!
There are many other smaller groups. Ask around at your next race!
