Minutes of FLRC Executive Board Meeting

December 8, 2004

Present: Diane Sherrer, Lorrie Tily, Don Tily, Jim Bisogni, John Sholeen, Sue Aigen, Tim Ingall, Tom Scharff, Joe Reynolds, Chris Irving, Casey Carlstrom, Jim Miner Jeffrey Juran, Alan Lockett and Jim Strehle

Lorrie called the meeting to order at 5:40

The minutes of the October 14, 2004 were approved.

Race Reports:

Dec Track Meet: Tim reported that the meet went well. There were approximately 90 runners. Tom had the results posted on the Web very quickly.

Upstate NY X-C race at CornellGolf Course: Lorrie reported that there was a communication problem with the Golf Course staff about reserving the Moakley room. The Club paid $150 to compensate for the problem. Also there were some confrontations between runners and golfers.

Upcoming Races:

Jan and Feb Track Meets: Tim expects a large crowd for the Jan meet that will feature a 1500 m event.

Hartshorne Memorial Masters Mile: Diane reported that there will be some top runners participating this year. The 25th women's race will feature a new booklet and celebration cake. There will be bonus money available.

Finger Lakes Snowshoe Race: Joe reported that the snow shoes have been ordered. He indicated that there might be a $75 charge for use of the forest. He is looking for an assistant race director.

Election of Officers:
Lorrie announced the results of the 2005 election of officers: President: Lorrie Tily, Treasurer: Chris Irving, Secretary: Jim Bisogni, VP of Track: Tim Ingall, VP of Trails: Joe Reynolds, VP of Roads: Jim Miner, Members at Large: Don Tily, Thaisa Way, Kevin Thompson.

Mailing Address:
Lorrie announced that the new club mail address is P.O. Box 4984, Ithaca, NY 14852-4984.

$500 has been prepaid for future newsletter mailings. Chris and Jim Miner have keys.

Finances:
Chris distributed an update balance sheet for Club finances. Transfer from John's database to Chris's database wasn't possible so she has hard copies, but no computerized versions, of old financial transactions.

Newsletter:
Diane reported the last edition of the newsletter was great. She's looking for the snowshoe race entry form.

Membership:
Casey reported that we 162 individual, 40 family, 26 life, and 9 complimentary members. 205 of these members receive the newsletter by mail.

Web Page:
No report.

Equipment:
Joe reported that Chris is looking for the measuring wheel. All timers and the clock seem to be in working order.

VP Reports:

Trails: Joe announced that all trail race directors need to update their entry forms through Joe Dabes.

Track: Tim had nothing new to report.

Roads: Jim had nothing new to report. Lorrie mentioned that she needs to forward 5 &10 re-certification material to Tom Scharff.

Other Business: Lorrie presented John with a gift from the Club for his many years of devoted service as Club treasurer. She expressed the Club's gratitude for his many contributions and hours that he devoted to the Club. His presence on the Board will be missed by everyone.
