Minutes of FLRC Executive Board Meeting
September 1, 2004
Present: Diane Sherrer, Tom Meyer, Lorrie Tily, Don Tily, Jim Bisogni, Jim Miner, John Sholeen, Tim Ingall, Karen Grover, Tom Scharff, Joe Reynolds, Evan Kurtz, Casey Carlstrom, Joe Dabes, Alan Lockett, Jim Miner, Chris Irving and Steve Ryan.
Lorrie called the meeting to order at 5:35
The minutes of the July 14, 2004 meeting were approved.
Race Reports:
Women's Distance Festival: Lorrie reported a successful race with wonderful help. Food donation was appreciated. Race netted $370.
Forest Frolic Trail Runs: Steve reported no rain for the 16th consecutive year. The race had 121 finishers. The shirts were a big hit. The race netted $492.45
Fillmore 5K: Allan reported a successful race with a good turnout for the fun run. The race made $392.81
Empire Haven 4-Leaf Clover Run: Race netted $363.
August Outdoor Track Meet: Tim reported that the numbers down to approx. 45.
Virgil Mtn. Madness Trail Runs: About 60 runners participated. There was a request to move the race to the third Sunday in August next year. Race netted about $241.80.
Summer Cross Country Training Runs: Karen reported that a total of 36 runners participated and that people enjoyed the runs.
Forge the Gorgeous: Tim reported a wet,dark race with record numbers of runners. The race netted $ 602.
Upcoming Races:
Virgil Monster Marathon: By e-mail Becky indicated things are in order. The club will pay $6.99 per runner and volunteer for food. There will be no shirts or awards. There are 57 pre-regs to date.
Ithaca 5 & 10: Lorrie reported approx. 50 pre-regs to date. Volunteers will get cookies instead of shirts. Bangs Ambulance is charging $100 for their presence. Leone timing is doing results.
Danby Down and Dirty: Danby Down and Dirty
Race Calendar:
A preliminary race calendar was developed. The calendar will be
finalized at the October meeting. There are at least four races that
need race directors. If race directors are not identified by October the
races will be dropped from the calendar. John pointed out that a
different method of entering race registrants will need to be worked out
since he will no longer be available to do this after Jan.
Finances:
John reported that the checking account balance is $5700, the
scholarship fund is at $3,262 and the long term investment is at
$6416. 35. John raised three issues; should we keep the Newfield PO box,
should we keep the mail permit in Newfield ( it will cost the Club $150
to get a new one elsewhere) and the Club needs to redo signature cards
for bank accounts and long term investments.
Newsletter:
Diane reported that the Sept. newsletter is finished and in circulation.
Membership:
Casey reported that there were 14 new memberships. The total
membership is at 287.
Web Page:
Tom stated that there was nothing new to report.
Equipment:
Joe R. reported for Chris that all equipment (except for the Down
and Dirty stuff) should be returned to her after the 5 &10 no matter what
condition it was in.
VP Reports:
Trails: Joe R. suggested that we be more aggressive in advertising the Clubs activities.
Track: No report
Roads: No report
