Minutes of FLRC Executive Board Meeting

Minutes of the July 12, 2006 meeting were approved as corrected.

Bylaws vote update - Mark Thompson. Reported that 27 voted for, none against. 16 voters were board members. The proposed bylaws are now active.

Discussed reimbursement procedure for race expenses incurred by directors. No clear policy available to help keep reimbursement fair and transparent. Finance committee asked to include this item in their upcoming discussions.

Danby Down & Dirty: Sue Aigen needs to hand off all responsibility for race-day due to upcoming surgery. John Dailey Jr and Alan Lockett volunteered to help direct the race.

Race application numbers are down in all races, perhaps because of not getting race entries out to community. Members volunteered to take entries to upcoming non-club events.

Race Awards - Karen Grover. Ithaca 5&10 has immediate need for awards for kids. Other races/track meets also need ribbons or medals or recycled trophies. Karen Grover and Diane Yates volunteered to research and submit a proposal to the board via email for the purchase of about 500 ribbons/medals of various colors/styles with a reasonable price tag.

Yasuko Nakanishi Whitman Donation - Lorrie Tily. Lorrie informed the board that in lieu of flowers, the family was requesting that donations be made to a fund set up in her name. Katie Danner volunteered to collect checks from board members, and send them in a single envelope as "from the FLRC board". Send checks to Katie Danner made payable to "Yasuko Nakanishi Japanese Language Studies Fund"

Publicity - Nancy Kleinrock. The Aug 15 issue of the electronic e-zine put out by trail runner magazine, entitled "inside dirt," is slated to include a race report on the Finger Lakes 50s. Also, Nancy will be writing an article for Trail Runner, to appear sometime in early 2007 for that magazine's "great escapes" section showcasing trails in the area.
