Minutes of FLRC Executive Board Meeting

July 14, 2004


Present: Diane Sherrer, Tom Meyer, Lorrie Tily, Don Tily, Jim Bisogni, Jim Miner, John Sholeen, Sue Aigen, Tim Ingall, Karen Grover, Jeffrey Juran, Tom Scharff, Joe Reynolds, Chris Reynolds, Alan Lockett, Jim Miner, Chris Irving and Steve Ryan.

Lorrie called the meeting to order at 5:37

The minutes of the June 9, 2004 meeting were approved.

Race Reports:

Twilight 5K: Alan reported that there were 159 finishers. Leone Timing did a good job and the race was well organized. $ 170 was donated to the Kitchen Cupboard. The race netted $603.

Finger Lakes Fifties: Joe Reynolds reported a good race with excellent volunteer support. There were 66 finishers from a large geographic distribution ( 25K = 23, 50K = 29, 50mi = 14). The race netted $730.

July Outdoor Track Meet: Tim reported good weather and about 80 runners with lots of younger runners.

Upcoming Races:

Women's Distance Festival: Lorrie and Diane reported things are in order. They need a tarp in case of rain.

Forest Frolic Trail Runs: Steve showed the classic Frolic T-shirt. Numbers for pre-reg was at 46, slightly down from last year. Steve has enough volunteers.

Fillmore 5K: Alan reported things are in order for the race. There were 12 pre-regs to date

Empire Haven 4-Leaf Clover Run: no report.

August Outdoor Track Meet: Tim reported that the next meet will be August 3 at Cornell.

Virgil Mtn. Madness Trail Runs: no report.

Summer Cross Country Training Runs: Karen mentioned that she had not yet received official approval for use of the training course.

Finances:
John reported that the checking account balance is $3000, the scholarship fund is at approx $3,000 and the long term investment is at $6600. He reported that the Tom B Runs made approx. $400 and that the Rec-way 10K lost $518.

Newsletter:
Diane reported that the process for publishing the newsletter still has a few kinks.

Membership:
Casey that there was nothing new to report.

Web Page:
Tom reported that there was a little bit of spam getting through on the Club listserv.

Equipment:
Chris reported that the storage shed was essentially complete thanks to all those would helped with the construction. She is now looking for the inventory list so that equipment location could be tracked.

VP Reports:

Trails: No report

Track: No report

Roads: No report

Other Business:

FLRC clothing: Sue reported that we are sold out of schimels and the supply of singlets was very low. She asked whether we should order more. It was decided to wait to see how much money we have in the treasury and to check to see if smaller orders would increase the per item price.

Hammond Hill block party: An announcement was made that there would be a block party at Hammond Hill on Aug. 21. While there will be a lot of events going on one of the purposes is to essentially organize a work party to maintain the trails.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:35.
