Minutes of FLRC Executive Board Meeting

January 14, 2004


Present: Lorrie Tily, Casey Carlstrom, Alan Lockett, Jeffrey Juran, Tom Meyer, Don Tily, Jim Strehle, Joe Reynolds, Christine Beach Reynolds, Bill Taylor, Tim Ingall, Sue Aigen, Evan Kurtz, Kevin Thompson, Thaisa Way, Jim Miner and John Sholeen.

Casey placed vote for slate of Officers & New Board Members. Accepted and approved.

Minutes from previous meeting approved as is.

Race Reports:

December Track Meet: Tim Ingall reported that Dec. track meet had a good turnout (about 80 people), especially in light of weather: successful in all. The Jan. track meet "was really a good meet." About 180 people attended. Tim received quite a few compliments for a job well done.

Upcoming Races:

Snow Shoe Race: Joe Reynolds reported that we will have about 48 snow shoes available. Sweatshirts with an owl design will be on sale and Logan Ridge winery is sponsoring the race again. They will host a gathering afterwards. Joe is still looking for volunteers and "hope for snow and cold weather."

Feb. & March Track Meets: Tim Ingall, Race Director. Dates: Feb.8th (starts at 9am) and March 7th. The Serious events for the March 7th Family Fun Day at the Track start at 9am and fun events start around 10 am.

Hartshorne Mile : is scheduled for Feb. 24th. Diane reported that a solid men's field is lined up. However, several elite women are injured and won't be attending. Patty Ford and Suzanne Myette are attending.

FLRC Clothing:
Men's Singlets are in. We reordered women's singlets & shimmels. An order form has been created and will be sent to Tom to post on the web.

FLRC Scholarship:
Lorrie is looking for committee members: Kevin Thompson, Joe Reynolds, & Jeff Juran volunteered. Bill suggested that a letter be mailed to area coaches, along with info on shoes.

Finances:
John Sholeen reported that we had a net loss of $2000 last year. Here is a summary: Newsletter cost over $4000. Races netted $4900. Membership dues brought in just over $3000. Clothing costs $1500, brought in $500 so far. T-shirt expenses increased from $7600 to $10,000. General Expenses were $3700.

Scholarship fund is at $2700.
